The singer Yotuel Romero has sent a strong message to his compatriot Raúl Torres after the latter publicly expressed his dissatisfaction at not finding any reference to his work in the Museum of Cuban Music.

In a direct tone of criticism, the rapper pointed out that professing loyalty to a dictatorship does not yield good results. "History always proves the same thing: the master is never there when you need them the most," he said on .

"Raúl, I’m not happy about this news, but it was a foreseeable death," Yotuel remarked, recalling that in 2021 Torres composed his song "Patria o Muerte por la Vida" for the regime, a crude response to the immense success of "Patria y Vida."

According to Yotuel, the troubadour "obeyed without questioning" the orders of those in power in Cuba, and compared his attitude to that of a slave who submits to the master in the hope of receiving protection.

Yotuel's comment addresses the protest by Raúl Torres regarding his exclusion from the Museum of Cuban Music, where, as he reported, there is "not a single photo, nor a memento, nor a mention" of his work.

For the exOrishas, the singer-songwriter's "tantrum" will be of no use to him. "You are not one of them. And when the time comes to pay, they will have no memory of your obedience," he told him.

"No matter how much you lick the boots of white power in Cuba, White Privilege has its clear limits: a black man will never and can never enter your bedroom," stated the singer based in Miami, asserting that, despite Torres's obedience, his musical legacy will never be fully recognized.

"No matter how hard you try, those same boots you kissed will be the ones that end up crushing your work," he concluded.

On his social media, Raúl Torres shared how, after visiting the trova section of the mentioned museum, he felt disappointed not to find his name.

He also shared his surprise at finding that even the guides did not recognize him, and one of them asked who he was. "This fact has been a harsh setback for me," he stated.

The musician added that the situation led him to deeply reflect on his career and his position within Cuban culture.

"I always knew that radicalizing my thinking and expressing my views would bring me problems, but I never imagined they would reach this extreme," he wrote.

Finally, he pointed out that he found it paradoxical to see other artists represented in the museum who have criticized the Cuban government, although he acknowledged that they also have the right to be featured for their quality.

In March 2021, Raúl Torres, known for his unwavering and often rude defenses of the Cuban government, released a song in response to "Patria y Vida."

The official platform Cubadebate released the video for "Homeland or Death for Life" after announcing it on social media and previously sharing the lyrics of the song, which claimed that "the Revolution has more than 62 thousand millennia left."
