A young Cuban woman has gone viral on the internet thanks to a funny video in which she showcases some of the situations that stress her out every day, despite her efforts to remain unbothered.
Cynthia Ríos, a digital creator with over 101,000 followers on Instagram, has managed to capture in just over a minute what the Cuban people are facing amid the ongoing general crisis in the country.
The young woman from Santiago humorously recounts what happens when she goes seven days without water in her house, when she comes home hungry and there’s no electricity or gas to cook, or when she doesn’t even have a candle to light her way in the darkness of the blackout.
But it truly erupts when a friend who is abroad tells her that she has a very difficult life and wants to return to Cuba.
"Where do you want to go back to?!" she questions him.
In just three days, the video already has 53,673 likes.
"This is a double-edged sword. You enjoy the humor but feel the pain," commented an internet user.
"The communist paradise," another one quipped.
"How do we get to this point? One tries to take it with humor, but the truth is it's stressful," confessed a mother.
"Absolutely true, and they still ask me if I miss Cuba. Well, no—hunger, misery, bureaucracy, scarcity," detailed an emigrant.
