Despite the dramatic flames, which were visible from a considerable distance, there were no injuries in the incident, according to Roilán Rodríguez Barbán, president of the Rampa Popular Council, who shared images of the event on social media.

"Fortunately, there were no human or material damages", Rodríguez Barbán specifically wrote, though it is evident that a fire with such flames must have left a trail of destruction in its wake.

The source did not specify the cause of the fire, but noted that - after the incident broke out - members of the Fire Department of Cuba, along with local residents, immediately went to the site to extinguish the flames.

Representatives from the Communist Party and the Municipal Government, as well as from the Rampa Popular Council, also arrived at the scene of the incident.

The fire adds to other incidents of various natures that have occurred in different areas of the country in recent weeks.

In one of the most serious incidents, a fire that occurred in Playa de Cunagua, in the municipality of Bolivia, Ciego de Ávila, destroyed 20 vacation homes and 189 temporary beach structures on March 15, mainly constructed with easily combustible materials like guano and wood.

Fortunately, these properties were unoccupied at the time of the incident.

In that case, according to reports from official sources, the fire originated from a wood stove that had been left burning, quickly spreading to the thatched roof of a neighboring house.
