"This morning, the kitten that was stuck on the electric pole on Panchita Hernández Street in our city was rescued," the organization reported.

In their message, they expressed special thanks to the electric company, whose workers facilitated the safe descent of the feline, and to the firefighters, who remained on standby until the technical conditions allowed them to act.

They also acknowledged the solidarity of the neighbors on the block, as well as the collaboration of Yureibys Torresilla and members of the Foundation itself.

"Fortunately, the little cat was rescued and is now home," the post concluded, celebrating the positive outcome of this small but significant animal rescue operation in the city of Espíritu.

In recent months, Sancti Spíritus has been the site of multiple animal rescues that highlight both the solidarity of its residents and the commitment of firefighters and state workers to animal protection.

In September, the firefighters of Sancti Spíritus successfully rescued a cat that had been trapped on the roof of a house for two days. Neighbors attempted to bring it down without success, but ultimately, the intervention of the Fire Department ensured that the animal descended safe and sound, following a delicate operation that required extension ladders and coordination with the residents of the building.

A few weeks later, in October, another case stirred the community: a social worker climbed the wall of a house in the city of Sancti Spíritus to rescue a cat trapped between concrete blocks. The man, identified as Eduardo, was recognized for his bravery and for taking immediate action upon hearing the desperate cries of the animal, demonstrating civic engagement in these episodes.

More recently, in March, a cat that had been trapped for days in the yard of a house in Guantánamo without being able to get out was rescued.

Neighbors alerted the firefighters after hearing the feline cry for several days, and they, with the help of local activists, managed to bring it to safety. The incident was celebrated on social media as an example of cooperation among the community, authorities, and animal advocates.
