A tragic traffic accident that occurred this Thursday in Santiago de Cuba resulted in the deaths of two people who were riding a motorcycle.

The accident occurred around noon at El Cruce de Lajas, on the Central Highway between Contramaestre and Palma Soriano, when a rented Yutong bus collided with a motorcycle.

According to preliminary reports released by the group Facebook "Accidents Buses & Trucks," both occupants of the motorcycle died: one at the scene of the accident and the other in the hospital.

They were residents of Cruce de Lajas and the town of Laguna Blanca, said relatives of the families.

"My condolences to friends and family," expressed emerging collaborator Michel Ibarra Martínez, who shared images and details of the incident.
