According to a report this Wednesday by the Mexican newspaper Por Esto, the plane managed to land safely without major consequences thanks to the skill of pilot Roger Alonso Castillo Rivas, originally from Ciudad del Carmen, who was recognized on social media for saving the lives of 215 people on board.

In the social media platform X, the Consulate of Mexico in Havana reported that flight 755 of Viva Aerobús, which was on the Miami-Mérida route, landed at José Martí International Airport following an in-flight emergency.

The consular office indicated that after contacting the airline, it was confirmed that the passengers were properly attended to and would be transferred to Mérida during the early morning on another flight.

On social media, relatives of the passengers reported that they did not receive official information from the airline while they waited for the landing at Mérida airport, scheduled for around 5:30 PM.
