The start of the trial against Damián Valdez for the murder of El Taiger has been postponed: This was argued by the Prosecutor's Office

The Miami-Dade Prosecutor's Office is requesting more time to begin the trial against Damián Valdez for the murder of El Taiger, citing lack of preparation. There are four witnesses, including the defendant's wife.

The Miami-Dade Prosecutor's Office requested a 60-day extension this Thursday to begin the trial against Damián Valdez-Galloso for the murder of the Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger.

According to Teresa Padrón, former manager of the artist, in the court held on May 8, the prosecution argued before the judge that they are not yet ready to start the trial and that they are still sharing information about the details of the case. The new court date is July 7, but this may change.

“I don't see them either prepared or preparing, and that worries me a lot”, Teresa said during a live session on Instagram. The former manager suggested that she believes the Prosecutor's Office might be seeking an agreement with the defense, whereby a certain number of years would be imposed on the accused, thus ruling out the possibility of a life sentence. However, she clarified that these are assumptions and her personal opinion, as the Prosecutor's Office has not revealed anything about a possible agreement so far.

Padrón also mentioned that there are four witnesses in the case, three women and one man, one of whom is Damián Valdez's wife, and it was learned in court that she is working with Damián's defense rather than with the prosecution as previously thought.

In this regard, Teresa questioned the fact that the Prosecutor's Office discloses compromising and sensitive videos about the case, conveniently always days before the deadlines, while continuing to protect Damián's wife: “If she is not working for the Prosecutor's Office and is working for the defense in favor of Damián, why don't they speak clearly, why don't they release that information?”

This is not the first time a court date has been postponed in the case against Damián Vladez-Galloso, who shot El Taiger in the head last October and left him inside a car still alive before calling 911. The reggaeton artist stayed in intensive care for a week, but due to the severity of his injuries, he did not survive.
