After 20 years in Norway, a Cuban couple with a daughter is preparing to return to live in Cuba: "It's one of my dreams."

A Cuban family in Norway, after 20 years, plans to return to Cuba, seeking to reconnect with their roots and leave behind the cold and loneliness.

After living in Norway for two decades, a Cuban woman has decided to return permanently to Cuba with her husband and daughter, and she shared her excitement on social media about fulfilling that longed-for dream.

In a video posted on her TikTok account @grechenmaria, the woman shares footage of her husband and daughter doing construction work on what will be their new home on the island.

"Returning to Cuba is one of my dreams! To be there without thinking that I have to go back to the dark days, to the cold, to the loneliness of the soul," wrote the Cuban alongside the emotional clip that quickly generated reactions among her followers.

The family has begun to build their house, hoping to start a new chapter in their homeland. "Returning to Cuba for good? How many like me want or would want to go back? Preparing our little house to return to where we are happy," the woman added.

The case has generated divided opinions on social media, where some users celebrate the decision as an act of bravery and a connection to their roots, while others express skepticism about the economic and social difficulties that still persist in Cuba.

The story of this family reflects a reality that more and more Cubans face: the dilemma of whether to stay abroad or return to the country that saw them born, driven by personal, emotional, and cultural reasons.
