These are the most popular guaraperas in El Vedado, according to young Cubans

The guaraperas of El Vedado have become popular. These are the most prominent ones. Guarapo, a refreshing drink, varies in price depending on the location and the added ingredients.

The guaraperas of El Vedado are experiencing a true surge in popularity on social media thanks to a video posted by the content creators of Viveelvedado.

In their recent Instagram reel, the young people highlighted three of the most popular guarapera spots in the central neighborhood of the capital. The first is Waraneo (F Street between 29 and 27), the second is La Cañita Dulce (14 between 19 and 21), and lastly, the busiest one: La Guarapera de 24 (24 between 17 and 15).

The video quickly generated hundreds of comments and reactions, with users debating which place serves the best guarapo in the neighborhood. "Every chronic guarapo drinker knows that the best is at 17 and 24," commented an internet user. Others highlighted the flavor, authenticity, and nostalgia that these establishments evoke.

The price of a glass of guarapo can vary from 20 pesos to 180 pesos for a bottle. The cost of the product will depend on the establishment where you purchase it, the number of milliliters in the glass, and whether it contains ice or is served natural. It will also be more expensive if another ingredient is added, such as "guarapo with lime".

The creators of Viveelvedado have become a reference for those seeking hidden gems in the capital, and this new content has helped to revalue a tradition that seemed to be in decline: drinking guarapo in Cuba.

In a context where food prices are skyrocketing, the cold, sweet, and refreshing guarapo emerges as one of the most accessible and cherished treats among Cubans. With a shortage of sugar on the island, it seems that... Vedado is sweetened with sugarcane!
