Not even the threat of a shipwreck could dampen the spirits of two sailors who set sail in their yacht to cruise along the coast of Miami during Memorial Day weekend.
A video posted by the popular Instagram account @onlyindade went viral, showcasing the nonchalance of a couple of men aboard a clearly sinking boat, as they enjoy the sun and their unique day of "sailing" as if nothing was happening.
Surrounded by other boats, floaters, and a lot of unintentional humor, the crew seemed to embody the spirit of captain Jack Sparrow: zero stress, plenty of beer, and an attitude of “let the ship sink, but not my fun.”
Social media exploded with comments ranging from mockery to admiration: “The level of nonchalance I aspire to,” wrote one user. “That ship has already sunk, better enjoy the deck,” joked another.
Some even speculated that the incident might have been related to new anchoring restrictions in the area or an attempt to collect insurance, but no one seemed truly concerned.
Among the multitude of reactions, expressions such as "a captain who respects himself sinks with his ship," "this is what it means to live in the moment," and "new standard for bottom fishing" stood out.
Meanwhile, the protagonists of the video received praise for keeping their composure, offering an unintentional lesson on how to maintain a good sense of humor even when the ship is literally going down.
Because one thing is clear: in Miami, the party goes on... even if it's on a tilted deck and with the water up to your knees.
