According to a report by Local 10, the crash occurred shortly after 11:15 p.m. (local time) last Friday, when David Alemán "attempted to turn left onto Madruga Court and crossed in front of a motorcyclist."

The investigation and the arrest
The case was treated as a serious offense and generated an intense manhunt for the fugitive driver.
The Coral Gables police, with the support of Miami-Dade County detectives, managed to locate the suspect using key technological evidence. Authorities used red light cameras and social media tools to identify the suspect.
This Tuesday, shortly after 8:30 p.m., officers arrived at Alemán's residence, located in the 5300 block of Southwest 158th Avenue, in West Kendall, and arrested him.
The man was taken to the police station for questioning, where he confessed to his responsibility for what happened.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with "leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death."
Judge Mindy S. Glazer, presiding over the initial hearing, harshly criticized the behavior of the defendant.
"She didn't even stop to help him... she hit a motorcyclist who was there dying," he said.
The magistrate imposed a bail of $35,000 on Alemán, whose nationality of origin has not been disclosed.
Despite the high amount, it is estimated that the accused will be released soon after paying the percentage that allows for their release, according to Telemundo 51.
