The Telecommunications Company of Cuba S.A. (ETECSA) informed its mobile phone customers that, starting at 12:00 AM on Thursday, May 30, and until 12:00 PM on the same day, updates will be carried out on some of its platforms.
According to the announcement on its various platforms on social media, during this period, the ability to make inquiries or balance transfers, top-ups, as well as the purchase of plans and packages will be affected.
For this reason, the Havana regime's communications monopoly recommends that its users carry out these procedures before the indicated hours.
It was also clarified that these update actions will not impact other service functionalities, so customers will still be able to make calls, send messages, or use mobile data to browse the internet.
ETECSA is the only company authorized to provide telecommunications services in Cuba. Its exclusivity makes it a monopoly in the telecommunications sector. It faces continuous criticism for excessive prices, internet access, and other services it offers.
