"Now the inhabitants of the area can sleep more peacefully because they know that this cruel individual is where they belong," published the regime's spokesperson, without providing details about the identity of the detainee or the exact circumstances of the crime.

A person identified on Facebook as Kim Barban provided additional details about the victim's situation, stating that the girl was an orphan and lived with her grandparents, who did not have suitable conditions for her care.

According to his testimony, the education authorities had been alerted to arrange for her transfer to a children's home, but "nothing was done." He also stated that a few months earlier, a similar incident had occurred with another girl from the same family.

Roxi Rivera, identified as the victim's cousin, also confirmed in the group Facebook "Denouncing the Crimes in Cuba" the capture of the fugitive, presumably the perpetrator of the horrendous crime.

In his message, he wrote: "On the morning of June 20, 2025, this murderer slit the throat of this little girl who was only 9 years old. This happened in Grito de Yara, Río Cauto, Granma. The authorities have not been able to catch him yet. Please help me demand justice for my cousin; he has to pay for what he did."

In the comments section, Rivera reported that at that time "the killer is still on the streets and has escaped from the police twice."

Rivera also explained that the motive for the crime is still unknown and detailed that "the girl was at home while the parents were out in the fields, and he entered. I just ask for justice for the girl; he is still on the streets."

It was also reported that the girl's mother had been murdered earlier, although not by the same perpetrator responsible for the crime against the child, without providing further details about that second incident.

Similarly, he emphasized that the alleged murderer "was a family acquaintance." When asked who the fugitive was, he pointed out: "Carrasco, a neighbor," which apparently is the name of the killer.

Recently, Cuban authorities arrested Yojanner Silega Víctor in the municipality of Cárdenas, in the province of Matanzas, who is identified as the alleged perpetrator of the murder of a coachman last May.
