The Cuban actress Yany Prado reappeared on social media to deny information she had previously shared: her father is not dead, as was initially believed, although he remains in a coma after being brutally attacked in Houston, Texas.
The artist also announced that the alleged perpetrator of the attack has been apprehended at the border between Mexico and the United States, thanks to a citizen report.
"He didn't kill my father; it was false news that we received. We still don’t know exactly what happened, but it was indeed an attempted murder. Justice will be served! My father is alive! Let us pray for his swift recovery, please," she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the alleged aggressor.
"They made us believe he was dead."
Yany insists that both she and her family initially received a fatal report from Houston, indicating that her father had been murdered.
“On Sunday, my family and I were made to believe that my dad was dead, that my father had been murdered,” she stated in a series of videos that she shared in her Instagram stories.
The actress believes that the false information may have been spread to protect her father while the assailant remained at large.
“You have no idea what I am going through right now, not just me, but my whole family, because we were made to believe that they had killed him, I don’t know if to protect him, because they still hadn’t caught this scoundrel,” she said through tears.
In light of the confusion that arose and the doubts and speculations circulating on social media following her recent denial, Yany has expressed regret that some people insinuate she invented the news, and she prefers to focus on what truly matters: her father is alive.
“A great miracle happened, the news was false, my father is alive, my father is a bull, my father is unbreakable, he is alive, he is in a coma, he has not awoken, but he is alive, my people, they couldn't overcome my father, they couldn't defeat my father”, he insisted.
Capture of the aggressor thanks to the support of their followers
Once Yany shared the photograph of the alleged attacker on social media, her followers began to spread the post widely, an action that proved crucial in capturing the individual.
“Thanks to all of you, they caught Pedro Luis Rodríguez Naranjo when he tried to cross the border”, he said with appreciation.
According to reports, it was thanks to an anonymous citizen that the authorities were able to apprehend the suspect.
“A lady... that lady is an angel, I don’t know who she is, but she alerted the authorities because she recognized him, and that’s how he was detained. So they have captured him, they have caught him... I wanted to sincerely thank you all, because thanks to you, justice will be served,” she specified.
The cry for a humanitarian visa
However, one of the biggest obstacles for Yany at this moment is the inability to travel to the United States, where her father is hospitalized.
"I'm figuring out how to resolve the situation because I don't have a visa for the United States right now. My father is an American citizen... anyway, I need to be there with him," he confessed.
The actress explained that she has started the urgent process to obtain a humanitarian visa because she needs to be with her father.
"I don't know how I'm going to do it, but I have to get this humanitarian visa so I can be with my father and sing to him, talk to him. According to the doctors, that helps a lot for the patient to wake up, and I know he will," she said with conviction.
“I trust and have faith that my father will get through this, because my father is a champion,” he concluded.
