Eduardo Adrián Morales Lobaina, a 24-year-old young man born in La Línea de la Concepción, in the province of Cádiz, has won the title of Mr. Gay Spain 2025, proudly representing not only the flag of Andalusia but also the pride of his Cuban roots, inherited from his mother.

His triumph, beyond being symbolic, is a cry for freedom directed at those who still live in fear of being themselves. "This triumph is not just mine; it belongs to those who cannot yet raise their voices. I am here for them, for her, for all of us,” he expressed emotionally upon receiving the sash at the gala held in Madrid.

The story of Eduardo has not been easy, according to the official page of the event. He grew up in a single-parent family, accompanied by his Cuban mother, whom he describes as his greatest example of dignity and effort, and his younger brother Toni, an 11-year-old boy diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome. His childhood and adolescence were marked by bullying: he was harassed for his appearance, his background, and his sexual orientation.

However, those experiences did not break him. On the contrary, they shaped a grateful, empathetic young man with a strong resilience. Today, Eduardo works as a sales associate in a clothing store and continues to save to achieve independence. He describes himself as sociable, charismatic, a dreamer, and a lover of cinema, music, travel, and nightlife.

#PrideInMyTown: the message that made an impact

During the event, Morales defended the #PrideInMyTown campaign, born from his own experience as an LGTBI+ youth in a conservative and often hostile environment. His proposal advocates for inclusive and diverse affective-sexual education from an early age as a key tool to prevent bullying and create safe spaces.

“Hatred is fought with education. We cannot continue to ignore the pain of so many young people who are pointed out or silenced. Schools must be a refuge, not a battleground”, he said during one of the most emotional moments of the event.

With this campaign, Eduardo not only gives visibility to his struggle but also aims to initiate a transformation from the local level, starting with his community in La Línea and extending his message to many other towns where diversity is still experienced in silence.
