A Cuban woman identified as Sudny Cabrera Ricardo, 40 years old, passed away this Thursday after falling from the fourth floor of a residential building in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, in the Dominican Republic.

The incident took place in the Carmen Deluxe III building, located on No. 5 Street in the Los Laureles neighborhood, where the victim resided. According to initial reports, Cabrera Ricardo fell to the pavement from apartment number 4 of the building and died instantly due to multiple injuries.

According to the newspaper El Nacional, Sudny had been living in the community for months, although she led a discreet life. “She would sometimes come down and have a couple of beers at a local store and then go back to her apartment, speaking very little to the neighbors,” recounted Isabel Torres, a resident of the area.

Although the authorities have not yet confirmed whether it was a suicide or an accident, and the National Police along with the Public Ministry have initiated an investigation, friends and acquaintances have begun to publicly express their doubts about the version of a voluntary act.

On social media, like Facebook, messages of condolence, photographs, and memories from those who knew Sudny began to circulate. One comment added, "Anyone who knew her knows she wouldn't do that, especially considering what an amazing mother she was. A wonderful mother and a well-prepared person. I sat next to her in school, and she was always intelligent. Only God knows."
