Fire affects three homes in Jovellanos, Matanzas

A fire affected three homes this Thursday in the Flor Crombet popular council, in the municipality of Jovellanos, Matanzas province, according to the official profile Con Todos La Victoria on the social network Facebook.

According to the publication, two of the houses were completely destroyed, while a third one suffered partial damage. Fortunately, no injuries or trapped individuals were reported, thanks to the swift action of four fire department teams that managed to control the flames before they spread any further.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation

The fire started in the central dwelling and then spread to the adjacent ones. The exact cause of the incident has not yet been determined, but the relevant authorities have initiated an investigation to clarify the facts.

The incident caused shock among the local residents, who watched with anguish as the fire consumed part of the families' heritage. Although there were no human losses, the material damages were considerable.

This new fire adds to a worrying series of incidents that have affected homes and economic centers in several Cuban provinces in recent months. Amid the economic crisis the country is facing, each loss represents a devastating blow for the affected families, many of whom lack the resources to rebuild what has been lost.

On July 9th, firefighters that originated in a house located in the city center of Santiago de Cuba, with no reported casualties.

Around 9:15 a.m., firefighters from Command 1 Martí promptly extinguished a small fire (Q101) in a house located at 415 San Francisco Street, between Calvario and Carnicería.

On the past Monday, adevastating fire in the municipality of Güines, Mayabeque province, reduced three homes to ashes and resulted in one fatality, in a tragic event that has shocked local residents and authorities.

The fire, whose origin is still under investigation, started in the home of an elderly person and quickly spread to the neighboring houses, consuming everything the residents owned within minutes.
