They are seeking help to capture men who attempted to kidnap a minor in Miami Gardens

The quick action of the minor prevented a tragic outcome.

The Miami Gardens Police are on the trail of three men suspected of attempting to kidnap a minor in a residential area of northwestern Miami-Dade County.

The event, which has kept an entire community on edge, occurred on Saturday, June 28, around 8:30 in the evening, when the minor was intercepted while running through his neighborhood, located on the 1300 block of 208th Street Northwest.

According to the official report, three individuals called out to him from across the street and shouted that they were going to kidnap him.

One of them even pulled out a plastic zip tie with which he tried to restrain him.

However, the minor reacted bravely: he pushed the attacker, landed a punch, and managed to run away back to his home, according to local news reports.

The victim's quick action prevented a tragic outcome. Authorities confirmed that no one was injured.

"We have just moved in, and the cameras are not working in a way that would have allowed them to capture anything," lamented a neighbor from the area, visibly upset by what had happened.

The three suspects have been described as African American men.

Two of them seem to be around 18 years old, while the third would be nearly 30.

The police have released sketches of two of the younger assailants, hoping that someone might be able to identify them.

The third implicated individual, who is older, does not yet have a sketch available.

Greicy Sánchez, a resident of the neighborhood and mother of five children, expressed her concern for her family's safety.

“I have children, and it could happen to me or any other mother, so it’s very frightening; it’s very ugly. If it could happen to our neighbor, it can happen to our children too,” she said in statements to Univision.

On that same street, Zulma Arias also lives with several minors.

Since learning about the attempted kidnapping, cuenta has drastically restricted her children's freedom to play.

"You can't leave your children playing outside alone because you have to be very careful," she commented.

"I will fight for any child they want to try to kidnap," he added.

"I'm a hundred percent worried that these things happen here where I live, where one expects tranquility and not this kind of accident," assured another resident of the area.

The authorities have made an urgent appeal to anyone who can provide any information that could help in identifying and locating the suspects.
