The popular Cuban YouTuber "Vámonos Con Juanka" was the victim of a robbery in the early hours of Friday, July 18, right at the entrance of the Hotel Inglaterra, one of the most iconic locations in the historic center of Havana.
According to the content creator himself in an emotional post on his account, the events took place around 6:16 am, when he decided to sit on the hotel’s porch furniture to watch the sunrise while enjoying his morning coffee, as he usually does.
"I was a little exhausted, and fatigue overcame me," he wrote.
It was in that moment of distraction when, apparently, an unknown individual stealthily approached and took a black bag that Juanka had beside him.
Inside, there were his Redmi Note 11 mobile phone, two wallets containing a considerable sum of money, official documents, bank cards, and two bottles of perfume.
The YouTuber was awakened minutes later by the hotel guard, but it was already too late. He tried to locate the thief by calling his own number and desperately running down the Boulevard of San Rafael, but to no avail.
The creator's indignation lies not only in the material loss but also in the security conditions of the place.
According to the report, the cameras at the entrance of the Hotel Inglaterra are not working, as well as those on the first block of the boulevard. They also criticized the minimal police presence in the area, even in such a busy location.
"Now I understand why thieves, con artists, pickpockets, and other wrongdoers roam around and do as they please every day," he noted.
Despite the harsh emotional blow, Juanka assured that his desire to continue working and to highlight the problems affecting his country remains intact.
"They have stolen everything from me, and today I feel devastated… but they have not taken away my desire to continue helping those in need," he concluded.
So far, there have been no updates reported in the investigation of the case.
