In the village of Uñas, part of the municipality of Gibara in the province of Holguín, an incident has occurred that has sparked a flood of reactions on social media.

The protagonist of the case is a butcher known locally as "Norgitín," whose real name is Norge Rodríguez.

According to the report -published on the Facebook profile Cazador-Cazado- the individual in question, after consuming large amounts of alcohol, stole a chestnut horse that belonged to a neighbor in the village.

He took the animal to his mother's house, where he proceeded to sacrifice it.

However, the effects of alcohol were such that, once the violent act was over, he fell asleep on top of the animal's body.

It was in that position that the authorities found and detained him.

A scene worthy of a fable... tragic

The event, as unusual as it was unsettling, generated a swift reaction among users following the official profile.

"A slaughterer who falls asleep will be caught by the 220," the original text joked, paraphrasing an old popular saying.

The image of a slaughterer sleeping on the freshly sacrificed animal - as described - was striking both for the grotesque nature of the scene and for the starkness of the event.

Some comments highlighted the justice of the moment: "He had to pay for his crimes. I can't imagine how many families he must have affected throughout his criminal career."

Reactions: between humor and indignation

The responses to the case ranged from sarcasm to critical reflection.

Many users found in the episode an unintentional metaphor for the moral and social decline of certain individuals in rural areas.

"Now he's really going to sleep, but in a cell," someone commented, while another warned that "you don't go to work drunk; accidents can happen... like this one."

However, the mocking tone of some posts has been questioned by those who believe that the situation should not be trivialized.

A user stated: “Animal mistreatment is no laughing matter. Those who find amusement in such things should reconsider.”

Others expressed their sorrow and solidarity with the horse's owner, lamenting not only the loss of the animal but also the economic and emotional damage that it represents.

“Poor horse, that slaughterer ended its life and also affected the owner, because I imagine it was his source of income.”

Alcohol as an excuse?

One of the most recurring debates was the legal value of intoxication during the commission of the crime.

Some believed that "a drunkard has no legal effect" or that the accused could be released without facing significant consequences.

However, the page itself clarified that, in fact, the consumption of alcoholic beverages can be considered a mitigating factor, depending on the type of crime and its circumstances.

This legal nuance was supported by others who called for "the full weight of the law" to be applied, arguing that alcohol should not become an excuse or mitigating factor when violating the rights of others, whether human or animal.

The symbolic value of the capture

In the eyes of the community, Norgitín's capture in that state was not just a police operation, but a symbolic act of justice.

"God brought him to justice," opined someone who claimed to know him personally. Another comment emphasized: "If everyone who commits these kinds of crimes faced the same fate, we would be in a much better place."

Beyond the character, what persisted in many of the reactions was the empathy towards the sacrificed animal.

"The only thing I regret is that he didn't fall asleep before killing the poor little animal," read a message that summarized the pain of many.

Another asserted that "there is no punishment that can compensate for the owner's pain," while several called for harsher penalties for those who commit such acts.
