The Cuban authorities arrested two men allegedly involved in the murder of Mailenis Blanco Amor, a 47-year-old woman who was brutally killed on August 4 in her home in the town of Puerta de Golpe, Consolación del Sur municipality, Pinar del Río, during an alleged robbery.

According to the profile of Facebook Reporte Cuba Ya, one of the attackers reportedly arrived at the home "dressed in a police uniform" to gain the victim's trust and enter the residence. Once inside, they allegedly suffocated her and stole belongings.

Sources cited by Reporte Cuba Ya indicated that one of those arrested is Reinier Raúl Pelegrín Izaguirre, 34 years old, a resident of Puerta de Golpe, with a history of burglary, corruption of minors, and trespassing.

The second detainee is Ernesto José, also known as El Maja, from Consolación del Sur, who allegedly used the police uniform stolen from his brother to carry out the act.

According to the profile Díaz Canel Sin Gao, once inside the home, the individuals restrained the husband and attacked the woman to prevent her from screaming, resulting in her death by suffocation. They then stole belongings before fleeing the residence.

After the crime, one of the suspects was arrested in Pinar del Río, and the other was later located in Santiago de Cuba, according to information from the official profile associated with the Ministry of the Interior De Pinar Soy.

A third individual involved, identified as Miguel Ángel Reve Tamayo, remains at large.
