The Banco Metropolitano of Cuba announced this Tuesday the launch of a new service modality for customer assistance through the Ticket platform, aimed at reducing difficulties caused by the ongoing blackouts that affect families on the island daily.

According to the official site Cubadebate, the new modality, the start of which was not mentioned, must be implemented in a group of Havana branches that do not experience frequent interruptions in electric service, which accounts for approximately 10% of their total offices.

In yet another attempt to address these issues, the measure aims to organize access to essential banking procedures and reduce crowds, allowing users to book appointments from one week to 24 hours in advance.

Available services include account deposits, cash withdrawals (subject to availability), check cashing, loan payments, bond deposits, and issuance of national transfers.

Operation and conditions

The reservation will cost 10 CUP, payable via Transfermóvil or EnZona. The service will be free for those who visit the Complaints and Requests Department, while the system will be aimed at customers familiar with digital operations or who wish to avoid long queues.

Reservations will not replace in-person service on a first-come, first-served basis; rather, they will operate concurrently. Additionally, the bank will ensure access regardless of the client's area of residence.

As part of the pilot phase, access to ATMs will be included at three branches, aiming to enhance convenience for users.
