The Cuban content creator Ronald A. Del Rey (@ronyale_) shared a unique tourism experience in Cuba on his social media, characterized by power outages, hardship, and a lot of humor.
“This is the vlog of a third-world traveler in a camping site,” he says at the beginning of the video, in which he recounts his stay at a tourist facility of the Campismo Popular group on the island.
The journey began with a bus ride to the campsite, lasting about two hours. Upon arrival, she reports that the assigned cabin was in poor condition and shortly after cleaning it to settle in, they were left without electricity.
Despite the setbacks, the group tried to enjoy the day. They bought some "snacks to tide them over" and headed to the seaside, where there was a party. However, the connection with nature was not entirely pleasant, as the quality of the beach was not the best.
One of the most unusual moments of the video occurred when they returned to the room happy to have water to bathe. It wasn't from the shower, but water collected in a tank.
There were also the classic heavy pranks among campers, as one of the neighboring groups put a crab inside their room, causing a commotion until they managed to free the poor creature.
The third-world tourist visited the Campismo Sierra Morena. He claims that the dinner in the dining hall, despite everything, was "pretty good." They dined in the dark and as soon as they could, they escaped to a nighttime party.
The video combines humor with a critical perspective on the conditions of Campismo Popular in Cuba, the option available for summer vacations for those with the lowest incomes on the island, whether they are students or workers.
The sincere way of narrating this reality has generated interaction among Ronald's followers, many of whom identify with the experiences portrayed.
The recording reflects the everyday challenges of national tourism within a context marked by the energy crisis and the deterioration of infrastructure in spaces dedicated to the recreation of Cubans using national currency.
