The informal currency market in Cuba marks this Tuesday the fifth consecutive day without price changes, according to the daily report from elTOQUE, which tracks the fluctuations of the three currencies.

At 7:00 a.m. on August 25th, the dollar remains valued at 405 CUP and the euro at 450 CUP.

In the case of the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC), it currently holds at 195 CUP to the which arrived last Friday, after having dropped by five pesos suddenly.

Amid the recent trend of stability in the currency market, it is a fact that the national currency is increasingly weak, that everyday Cubans are losing purchasing power, and that the Cuban government remains silent despite promises of currency reform on which it has yet to comment.
