At just 15 years old, Cuban-American Jason Iglesias is emerging as one of the great promises of ice hockey in the United States.

His story began when he was just six years old, after his father took him to a Florida Panthers game. Since then, the sport has captivated him forever.

Iglesias began his sports training with the Miami Toros in Kendall and later joined the Palm Beach Breakers.

His talent led him to join the Florida Alliance AAA, with which he became a state and district champion, also participating in national tournaments.

"Yes, we won the state title and then the southeast district. Yes, yes, and we went to nationals, but we couldn't win. But that's life," the young man recalled in an interview with Telemundo 51.

His talent also led him to represent Cuba in the AMERIGOL Latam Cup, an international tournament held in Florida with the support of the NHL and the Panthers. Despite his young age, he participated in Division 2 due to his outstanding performance.

"It was a lot of fun," she confessed.

"I love hockey. Whenever I can watch a game, I turn on the television and enjoy it. But yes, my favorite team is the Florida Panthers, and I follow them very closely. When they won, it brought me great joy," he expressed.

The young man also acknowledges the significance of the team's achievements for the growth of ice hockey in South Florida, a region where it is still an emerging sport.

The next step in his career will be moving to a school in New York, where he can combine his studies with intensive hockey practice.

"It's perfect for me, I believe, because I have the school right there, and from classes, I can go directly to the rink and play hockey whenever I want," he said excitedly.

His dream is very clear: to become an NHL player someday. "Right now, I'm trying to go to juniors after a few years. And from there, hopefully, I can go to college and play hockey."

Finally, she offered a piece of advice to those looking to make their way in hockey.

"Parental support is indeed very, very important. I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for them. And if I have to say anything, it's to keep working every day; you can't just stay at home doing nothing. Every day you have to get out there and give it your best effort."
