The Cuban presenter Alexander Otaola responded to the accusations of racism made by the reggaeton artist L Kimii, with whom he has been embroiled in a growing controversy for several days.

"Where is my racism? I haven't talked about it as a Black person; I don't speak about people's color. Black people in Cuba are the most oppressed ethnic group, and that's what Black Cubans themselves say. Find the racist comment I've made against you and please show it," Otaola stated during a live broadcast.

The influencer denied having made discriminatory remarks against L Kimii or their family and noted that, at times, he has praised the artist's gestures, such as wearing a t-shirt with political messages at a concert. "I have no reason to go after him; I don't know him," he added.

Otaola also criticized what he deemed "homophobic attacks" from the reggaeton artist and demanded clarification on statements he interpreted as a threat. "You tell me: are you going to shoot me, L Kimii? I want you to finish the sentence you left unfinished," he insisted.

The presenter emphasized that he has never made racial distinctions in his criticisms: “I have been angry with white, mulatto, black people, from all races, and I have never had a racist expression. Calling someone black is not bad. Of course, there is discrimination in Cuba, but it’s due to the dictatorship, not due to me.”

The controversy between the two began after L Kimii lashed out at Otaola and accused him of racism, generating a wave of reactions on social media.
