The public confrontation between presenter Alexander Otaola and influencer Flor de Cuba reignited this weekend, following a new series of statements shared through videos on social media.
In his response to the accusations from Flor de Cuba last week, Otaola denied attempting to evade the defamation lawsuit he faces in the United States and affirmed that he has nothing to hide.
"It's not that I called my lawyer and said, 'I have no proof of what I said, we need to run away.' I don't run from anything, I'm public, I'm successful, and I'm a businessman," the communicator stated. "Don't worry, we will see each other in court. I'll give you a minute of fame," he added.
Otaola accused the influencer of using "irrelevant" testimonies to discredit him and specifically mentioned an former model from Flor's academy on the island. That person is currently struggling with addiction issues.
Flor de Cuba expressed: "You say that my model, Susel, who is currently homeless, without teeth, going through the toughest time with a small child, talked about my academy. You mock her and call her 'cracker,' with so many mothers in Cuba dealing with drug addiction and their children, with the chemical dependency, and you make fun of her like that."
The Cuban woman did not stop, she raised the stakes and brought a third person into the debate with Otaola, launching harsh accusations on social media. “You have friends like La Diosa who supply drugs to artists, and you don’t report that. With what moral authority do you come to attack me?” said Flor.
Otaola reminded the influencer that he has numerous pieces of evidence against her, including photos and videos regarding an alleged special friendship with Sandro Castro.
At this point, Flor replied: "He didn't choose to be born into that family. That is neither a political nor ideological defense. You manipulate it to portray me as an ally of the regime when it's simply your personal opinion. It's not evidence of any kind of political sympathy or any crime."
The content creator emphasized that the host has tried to damage her reputation by resorting to insults and personal attacks. She openly admitted to her past with addiction but stressed that she has managed to rehabilitate and rebuild her life.
"My past is not a weapon of discredit. On the contrary, it shows that I overcame a difficult time and today I am an example of resilience," Flor assured.
The confrontation between the two occurs alongside the ongoing legal process in Miami, where Flor has a lawsuit against Otaola for alleged defamation. The next hearing is scheduled for September, when the judge will decide whether the case will proceed or if the presenter’s request to dismiss it will be granted.
At the end of her message, Flor de Cuba stated: "I spent many years silent, feeding all your lies and letting them grow. That is not going to happen anymore. Now I have the maturity, mental health, and intelligence to show people what lies behind your persona."
