The president of the United States, Donald Trump, issued an ultimatum to the Hamas group this Friday: if they do not accept the peace plan proposed by Washington by Sunday at 6:00 PM (Eastern Time), "a hell the likes of which has never been seen will be unleashed".

Trump stated that all countries involved in the conflict have accepted the agreement, and that only the response from the Islamist group is pending.

"All countries have signed! If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, a HELL unlike anything seen before will be unleashed against Hamas," warned the leader on his social network Truth Social.

The 20-point plan was presented on Monday by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.

It includes the cessation of the war in Gaza, the release of all hostages—both alive and deceased—and an ambitious reconstruction plan for the enclave under international supervision.

Israel has already accepted the proposal, as confirmed by Netanyahu in a joint appearance.

But Hamas has not yet provided a definitive response. Trump urged the group to immediately release the hostages: "FREE ALL HOSTAGES, INCLUDING THE BODIES OF THE DEAD, NOW!"

The official also urged Palestinian civilians to move to safer areas within Gaza. “To all innocent Palestinians: please move to safe places. You will be well taken care of by those ready to help,” he wrote.

A source close to the White House stated that Trump has expressed growing frustration with Netanyahu's attitude during the negotiations.

However, he reiterated his full support for Israel in the event that the agreement fails, despite the growing rejection from the international community of Netanyahu's policies.

If realized, this pact would bring an end to nearly two years of war in Gaza, which has resulted in over 66,000 Palestinian deaths—including 17,000 minors—according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.

The Israeli offensive began after the attack on October 7, 2023, in which 1,200 people were killed in Israel and more than 250 were kidnapped by Hamas.

The new plan also proposes an interim administration in Gaza led by a "Peace Board" chaired by Trump, with participation from international leaders, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

So far, Hamas has not confirmed whether it will accept the terms. Trump has been emphatic: "There will be peace in the Middle East one way or another".
