Following the incident, units from the Integrated Medical Emergency System (SIUM), personnel from the Red Cross, forces from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), and representatives from political and governmental authorities in the area quickly arrived at the scene of the accident.

Currently, the causes of the accident are being investigated, including possible speeding, mechanical failures, the condition of the road, and the fact that the driver lacked a license.

This element, in particular, could have additional legal implications for the driver and for anyone responsible for the improper use of the tractor as a means of transporting people.

The case brings back to attention the risks of informal transportation in rural areas and the need to strengthen controls regarding compliance with traffic regulations, particularly in mountainous regions, where geographical conditions and the precariousness of transportation means amplify the danger of incidents of this kind.

In recent hours, several traffic accidents have occurred in Cuba, some of which have had fatal consequences.

A deceased person and 10 injured individuals, two of whom are reported to be in critical condition, was the outcome of another accident that occurred this Saturday, in this case on the La Moza-Manicaragua road in Villa Clara, following the collision between a Polski vehicle and an ambulance from the Military Industrial Company “Ernesto Che Guevara” of La Campana, according to the official profile J Rodríguez R. Arimao, linked to MININT.

Another mass accident, this time occurring in the town of Santa Teresa, in Holguín, has left another ten people injured, according to the official information that has emerged on social media.

The page of the "Lucía Iñiguez Landín" Clinical Surgical Hospital in Holguín specified that seven injured individuals were treated at that center, two at the "Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja" Pediatric Hospital, and one at the "Fermín Valdés Domínguez" Military Hospital.
