A Cuban woman recounted her terrible experience at a branch of the Palacio de los Jugos in Hialeah, where not only did they sell her rotten rice, but they also charged her extra.

"On September 25, I bought some fried rice, I took the fried rice home, and when I arrived, I realized that it was spoiled. The next day, when I left work, on the 26th, I went crying to complain," this Cuban, who identifies herself on Tik Tok as ritacanariona, begins to recount.

"The manager told me it was fine, that I had done well to go, that I shouldn't post it on any social media because he didn't want to lose customers. He switched my shrimp fried rice, which is one of the most expensive dishes, for a simple yellow rice with pork. He gave me a little tray of fried plantains," he added.

This Cuban woman then reported that at this branch located in East Hialeah, at 1100 E 4th Ave, she was charged more on her credit card.

"Nothing, perfect, that day I didn't buy anything at all; I was focused on complaining about the spoiled fried rice they had sold me. Two or three days go by, and I see on my credit card that I was charged another fee of 17 dollars on the same day I went to complain," she stated.

“The amount I paid for the fried rice, a chicken soup, and six cod fritters was 57.17. He pulls out his card reader, shows me the 57.17, but has no other way to prove to me the 17 dollars they charged me,” he recounted.

This client reports that the manager told her, "It must be that my card was hacked."

"Gentlemen, I have my card here with me. The issue is not the 17 dollars; the issue is that you can't trust that you're going to swipe your card in a place and not be charged anything more," he said

"Palacio de los Jugos de Hialeah, be careful when you swipe your card," I concluded, warning.

In 2023, Florida authorities ordered the temporary closure of another branch of the Palacio de los Jugos, due to the presence of cockroaches.

The state's Department of Commercial and Professional Regulation conducted an inspection last week and found unpleasant insects crawling in the meat grinder.

The institution ordered the closure of the establishment, but allowed it to reopen after a mandated cleaning and reinspection.

The report detailed that in this restaurant, located at 5721-5741 West Flagler Street, a total of 18 violations were detected.
