The Cuban representative Daylin Rodríguez is among the favorites in the Miss Grand International 2025 pageant, taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, with the participation of 77 delegates from around the world.
Rodríguez, a psychology student and advocate for women's empowerment, was included in the Top 3 of the “Welcome Gala Dinner”, one of the first official events of the competition, according to the specialized portal Coronas Universales Pageants.
In that selection, the Cuban shared honors with the representatives of Philippines and Venezuela.
"Cuba is ready for the closed-door interview", the young woman wrote on her social media, where she expressed gratitude for her supporters and stated that she puts her "faith in God" before one of the most important stages of the international competition.
She also received an honorable mention in the swimsuit competition.
Rodríguez competes with delegates from traditionally strong countries in beauty pageants, such as the Philippines, Thailand, Venezuela, Guatemala, Indonesia, and Mexico, and has succeeded in capturing the attention of fans and analysts in the pageant world.
“WE hope for a Top 20... but if we make it to the Top 10 or 5, it would be something great for Cuba,” their team commented to CiberCuba, recalling that the country has not qualified for the Miss Grand or Miss Supranational for several years.
"We want Cuba to make its presence felt again on international stages," they added.
Daylin Rodríguez -a native of Isla de la Juventud in Cuba- was named Miss Grand Cuba 2025 earlier this year.
She describes herself as a woman passionate about serving others, convinced of the power of emotional intelligence, compassion, and resilience.
"I am proud to be a voice for those who need it most and to use this platform to inspire positive change," the model stated.
The final gala of Miss Grand International 2025 will take place on October 18 at the MGI Hall in Bangkok, where the current queen, the Filipino Christine Juliane “CJ” Opiaza, will pass the crown to her successor.
Meanwhile, the followers of the contest can vote for their favorites through the official social media of Miss Grand International.
At this stage, each "like" or "heart" counts as points to determine the 20 semifinalists of the contest.
The young woman has received significant support from Cubans on social media, where she is described as a fresh, elegant, and dignified representative of the island.
