The Cuban actress Nancy González announced her return to national television after a long health recovery, following a surgical procedure to remove a benign tumor near the second cervical vertebra.
The program Suena Cuba celebrated the news with an emotional message on social media: “Survivor of a tumor near the second cervical vertebra, today Nancy González returns to Cuban television, beautiful, with a renewed image and stronger than ever. Thousands of blessings for her!”.
The renowned actress, known for her roles in productions such as Ruta 10 and Viceversa, underwent surgery two years ago at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery (INN) to remove a tumor that was affecting her nerves and causing her severe pain and motor problems.
In previous statements, González expressed her deep gratitude to her husband, daughters, family, and friends for their support during her treatment.
He also expressed his gratitude to the medical team at INN for the care received. “I witnessed their dedication to work and their eagerness to give their best,” he emphasized.
In 2022, the actress revealed that she was facing health issues that forced her to take a temporary break from television.
At first, she thought it was a cervical issue, but after several tests, the doctors detected the presence of a tumor.
Even so, she met her commitments in the soap opera Viceversa, thanks to the support from her colleagues and medical team.
"Now all that’s left for me is to follow my doctors' instructions to fully recover and return to work, to life," she said then, unaware that a year later she would be ready to return to the recording sets.
