Truck becomes trapped under bridge in Havana

A truck with a container became stuck this Saturday under a bridge on the Vía Blanca in Havana.

The incident was reported by the Facebook page La Tijera, which stated that the event occurred under the Clover Bridge, on the White Way.

The truck ended up blocking one of the lanes, the information specified.

According to witnesses accessed by this Facebook profile, the accident occurred when the driver attempted to pass under the bridge without paying attention to the height signs placed on the support pillars.

"If I had taken the upper path, I would have avoided the incident," he assured.

This is not the first time something like this has happened. In 2022, a truck got stuck under the bridge of the Calixto García Stadium in Holguín, when the driver decided to use this route without considering the height of the vehicle.

Around the same time, a large truck carrying a container became stuck under a bridge on the Central Highway, between the provinces of Granma and Santiago de Cuba.

A year later, a passenger truck was wedged into a bridge on the National Highway of Cuba, at kilometer 202.

The incident was reported early Monday morning by two different users

"A truck went up against the bridge and almost fell between the separators. It became wedged between the two bridges with the cabin hanging down," said a user on the Facebook profile Bus and Truck Accidents.
