A Cuban boy received the best birthday gift he could ever imagine: the unexpected visit of his mother, whom he hadn't seen in a long time.

The heartfelt moment was captured on video and shared on TikTok by user @dayamihernandez28, where it has already garnered thousands of reactions.

The images show how the little boy, dressed in a red sports outfit and surrounded by family, eagerly awaited a "surprise package" that his mother had promised him for his birthday.

What he didn't know was that the package had a name and a face: his own mother, who arrived at the airport loaded with suitcases and congratulatory balloons, to envelop him in a long embrace filled with tears.

"He was expecting a package for his birthday, but the package was Mom," says the text overlay in the video, which has touched the hearts of thousands of users on social media.

The images show excited family members and witnesses, some crying tears of joy at the touching reunion, which takes place in a context where forced migration increasingly separates more Cuban families every day.

These types of scenes, becoming increasingly common, reflect not only the strength of family ties but also the profound emotional toll that the separation caused by the migration crisis in Cuba represents.

While many children on the island await a package with sweets, clothes, or toys for their birthdays, some are fortunate enough to receive an unforgettable hug.
