Content creator Darlis (@darlis.merio8) shared a TikTok video that sparked laughter and went viral for showcasing an element that is always present in Cuban kitchens.

It’s not the rice cooker, nor the old frying pan for plantains. The star of the video is an essential item found in absolutely every Cuban home: the dishcloth.

It can be beautiful, ugly, recycled, or full of holes, but there it is, the "winner of a thousand battles." It doesn't matter if the kitchen is large or small, modern or traditional; there is always a cloth hanging near the sink, ready to dry the area where the dishes are washed.

It is a tradition that has been passed down through generations, symbolizing order, cleanliness, and a love for keeping the kitchen "presentable" at all times.

However, as a user correctly points out in the comments, there is also another cloth "that is not to be touched, that is only for decoration." If you visit a Cuban home, do not even think about drying your hands on that cloth.
