The village of Guamo, in the municipality of Río Cauto in the province of Granma, is practically underwater after the overflow of the Cauto River basin, the longest river in Cuba.

In the last few hours, hundreds of people, including pregnant women, mothers with newborns, and minors, were transferred to the 1st of January Multipurpose Hall in Bayamo, which has been converted into a temporary shelter.
