A young Cuban identified on TikTok as @karla28127 shared a video that quickly went viral, in which she recounts her negative experience with a resin smile design, an aesthetic treatment that—according to her—ended up damaging her natural teeth and causing her deep regret.
"I learned it the hard way, which is why I'm sharing my experience with you today so it doesn't happen to you," the Cuban wrote in the description of her post, accompanying a video where she shows the deterioration of her dental pieces.
In the clip, Karla explains that a little over a year ago, she decided to get a resin smile makeover, motivated by the results she saw on social media. "At first, I felt super happy because, just imagine, my teeth were white and radiant. But over time, that completely changed," she confessed.
Displaying her dental work in front of the camera, the young woman pointed out that several of her teeth had lost their color, chipped, and even one had completely fallen out. “This one is partly broken, this one is missing a piece, and I actually lost this one yesterday,” she said.
Karla shared that, due to the severity of the damage, she was traveling to Miami to consult with a specialist and replace the resin fillings with porcelain veneers, a more expensive option, but also more durable and aesthetically pleasing.
"People on social media usually only show the nice side of everything and never reveal the reality. You spend a lot of money trying to fix what is already broken. From my experience, I do not recommend resin teeth at all," she warned.
Finally, she regretted making the decision out of "excitement" rather than genuine medical or aesthetic need. "I really had no need for any of this, but out of excitement, because they looked nice, I went through with it. And now, I am extremely regretful. I'm someone who rarely regrets anything, but I do regret this," she concluded.
