The Cuban influencer Jorge Álvarez Drake, known on social media as @el_huevito.92, enthusiastically shared how he and his partner won $5,000 after buying a lottery scratch-off for just $10 in the United States.
In a video, Álvarez showed the moment of the payout and clarified the doubts of his followers after one of them mocked him by asserting that he would "only receive half of the prize."
However, the young man and his partner explained that they received the full amount after visiting the lottery's main office in Downtown Austin, Texas, where the larger prizes are paid out.
Here we have the check for $5,000. They didn't take anything from us because for a prize of this value, they don't withhold anything,” the young woman told. They added that it only needs to be reported as income for tax purposes.
"The process is very easy; you just need to provide your personal information to claim your prize. In Texas, if you have debts to schools, hospitals, and others, the State automatically deducts the money from the prize."
The influencer took the opportunity to encourage other Cubans in the United States to try their luck with the Raspaditos. “If you hit the jackpot, remember us,” he joked.
