The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) received more than 200,000 applications from Americans interested in joining its ranks to assist in the apprehension and deportation of the "worst illegal criminals" in the United States.
ICE has received more than 200,000 applications from patriotic Americans who want to defend the homeland by removing murderers, pedophiles, rapists, terrorists, and gang members from our country," declared Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in the statement published on the official DHS website.
The text details that the agency offers a package of federal incentives that includes a bonus of up to $50,000, options for student loan forgiveness, additional pay for operational availability, and expanded retirement benefits for ICE agents.
The DHS stated that this massive response reflects "the commitment of citizens to the defense of the country and the security of their communities."
The White House spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, celebrated the news on the social network X, where she wrote: “ICE has received over 200,000 applications to join law enforcement and help remove the worst illegal criminals from the United States.”
In August, the ICE launched a new public campaign on social media and its website, urging U.S. citizens to assist in identifying and deporting undocumented immigrants with criminal records.
"Your country needs you. Help deport undocumented foreign criminals: pedophiles, murderers, scammers, cartel members, drug traffickers, and thieves," reads one of the controversial graphics disseminated by the federal agency on X, reminiscent of the style of old military recruitment posters.
The campaign, which bears the slogan "AMERICA NEEDS YOU," asserts that "the United States has been invaded by criminals and predators. We need you to get them out of here."
Two weeks after the announcement, ICE reported receiving over 100,000 applications from citizens seeking to join its ranks to "remove the worst criminals" from the country.
