The Cuban businessman and influencer Sandro Castro has sparked controversy again with the release of the latest episode of his miniseries El Hoyo, where he portrays himself as "the chosen one" of God to transform the reality of Cuba.
In the video, a character disguised as God visits Sandro's grave and resurrects him as El Vampirach, a symbol of a supposed new stage of change and awareness in the world.
After his resurrection, Sandro gives a speech with a messianic tone, mixing spiritual messages and social critiques, with several mispronounced words and disconnected ideas.
"Let's rid ourselves of ambition and selfishness. Let's create a world where everyone can fulfill their desires while respecting freedom of thought," they expressed.
He asked Cubans to lower their expectations and be satisfied with small things. "Why do you want a big house if you always sleep in the same room? Why do you want the newest car if what makes you happy is taking your pet out to do its business?"
He also urged the people to maintain unity, just as his dictator grandfather used to do: “I only ask you to be more united than ever, with a steady step, a brave heart, and a cool mind.” The video concludes with a pose that imitates the statue of José Martí in Central Park, Havana.

This weekend, Sandro Castro has been particularly active on social media. In his stories, he announced that he will launch his own exchange rate, and showed a design where he indicates that he will call it: “Vampicach.”
The influencer accused the independent media El Toque of earning “more than 100 million dollars in a single day” following the rise of the dollar in the Cuban informal market.
In addition, he announced a series of measures he plans to implement in order to unite private entrepreneurs in Cuba and curb the rise of the dollar's price in the country's informal market.
