The popular Dominican influencer Destino Positivo ignited social media after sharing a controversial opinion on his Instagram account, where he claimed that actor Alejandro Cuervo would, in his view, be the people's favorite to become president of Cuba if the communist regime were to fall and the country experienced true democracy.

In his message, Destino Positivo stated: “If the regime in Cuba were to end right now, and the country needs to be rebuilt, we must find people who connect with the citizens, individuals whom the people want, individuals whom the people trust, Alejandro Cuervo, for me, could be the next president of Cuba by popular vote.”

The content creator added that, in a democratic scenario, the actor would sweep the polls against other figures such as the presenter Alexander Otaola or Eliécer Ávila, with whom he has had more than one confrontation on social media.

For me, Alejandro Cuervo, by a popular vote from the people, wins a thousand to zero against Alexander Otaola, wins a thousand to zero against Eliécer Ávila, and wipes the floor with the entire Otaola team and everyone who stands against him in running for president of Cuba in a democratic Cuba,” he stated.

The influencer's statements sparked an intense debate among Cubans inside and outside the island, and some even mocked his remarks, taking them as a joke. Others fiercely criticized the Dominican, holding nothing back and emphasizing that he knows nothing about the Cuban reality.

While it is true that Alejandro Cuervo has earned the affection of the Cuban public, especially within the island, many believe that Destino's assessment is completely misguided.
