A newly arrived Cuban in the United States was moved to tears when visiting a supermarket in Miami for the first time, having spent his entire life in Cuba without knowing the abundance or the freedom of choice that these places offer.

The emotional moment was shared on TikTok by the account La Isla que Llora, showing the man walking through the aisles of the market while he repeats, visibly moved: “Look at this, boy, look at all this food. I almost lost my life along the way, but it was worth it.”

In the video description, which has garnered thousands of views, it reads: “After a lifetime in Cuba… seeing this for the first time left him speechless. It's not just food, it's freedom, it's the opportunity to choose.”

The Cuban's gesture reflects the harsh reality faced by millions on the island, where the scarcity of food and basic necessities has become a part of daily life.

In contrast, their arrival in Miami symbolizes hope for many emigrants for a dignified future and the recovery of fundamental rights such as the ability to decide what to buy and what to eat.

The video has touched thousands of users who see in the man's reaction the essence of the Cuban exile: sacrifice, nostalgia, and the pursuit of freedom.
