The Cuban singer-songwriter Carlos Varela announced the postponement of his concerts scheduled for November 14 and 15 at the Flamingo Theater Bar in Miami, due to delays in the approval of his work visa by the United States consulate in Madrid.
Dear friends. I deeply regret to inform you that, due to circumstances beyond my control, the concerts on November 14 and 15 at the Flamingo Theatre (Miami) must be postponed, the troubadour posted on his social media profiles.
My work visa has been in administrative processing at the United States consulate in Madrid for over a month, and without its approval, I cannot travel. For a year now, my lawyer and I have been initiating all the procedures for this visa, she explained.
The artist deeply lamented the situation and emphasized that he had never faced a similar problem with his visa before. “It is very unfortunate that this is happening. I go through this process every year, and this is the first time something like this has happened to me,” he wrote.
Varela also recalled his commitment to his audience in Miami, where his performances often sell out weeks in advance. “The tickets have been sold out for months, and I know that this affects the timing, plans, and hopes of you and me. My team, my musicians, and I were ready and remain prepared to resume the tour as soon as the visa is confirmed,” added the performer of Guillermo Tell.
In his message, he also pointed out that, for now, the dates of December 19 and 20 remain the same at the same theater, “unless this situation continues.” “We will announce the new dates when possible. God bless you all,” concluded the musician.
The Flamingo Theater Bar announced on its Instagram account that the new performances by Carlos Varela are scheduled for December 19 and 20, after the November dates sold out completely.
The statement concludes with a phrase that captures its essence: “Since the world began, there has been one certainty: some build walls and others build doors”.
Among the comments on his post, the Cuban actor Luis Alberto García wrote: “The minint over there also skips ten stops.”
Carlos Varela has offered numerous concerts in Miami, always receiving a warm reception from the audience. In one of his most memorable performances, he shared the stage with Willy Chirino in an event that celebrated Cuban music as a bridge between generations. He has also performed “Una palabra” alongside Cimafunk at the Flamingo Theater Bar, where he showcased a duet that received much applause from the audience.
The troubadour also participated in the tribute to Pablo Milanés, where he sang alongside Leoni Torres and Haydée Milanés at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, a night filled with emotion and memories. On another occasion, he shared the stage with Leoni Torres during the last of the three concerts he held in that city, all of which were sold out.
The troubadour announced his November performances on August 14 with the message “Miami, see you very soon!”, accompanied by the show poster.
