The "Abel Santamaría" International Airport in Santa Clara has once again become the scene of long waits and crowds, as shown in several videos shared by travelers on social media.

A TikTok user shared images from the interior of the terminal, where dozens of people were waiting for their flight in a visibly small and crowded room.

"That's how the airport in Santa Clara, Cuba looked," wrote the video's creator, who quickly received comments from other users sharing similar experiences.

"I went five years ago and I’m never going again," wrote one. Another, however, defended his return to the island despite the chaos: "I've been three times and I'm going back in January. They can say what they want, but there are no beaches like those in Cuba."

However, among the opinions, there were also those who recalled the contrast between the travelers and the harsh reality faced by the Cuban population.

"And to think that just a few meters away, people lack food and medicine," remarked an internet user, referring to the crisis the country is facing, marked by widespread shortages and constant blackouts.

The images highlight the precariousness of an airport infrastructure that, despite being international, barely manages to cope with the influx of tourist flights, especially during the peak season.

Meanwhile, Cuban authorities are promoting foreign tourism as an economic engine, despite millions of Cubans on the island facing a critical situation marked by a lack of food, medicine, and a growing deterioration of public services.
