Another day of surprises in the Cuban informal market!
In recent hours, the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC), which last week indicated a significant rise in the informal Cuban market, plummets by 25 euros and is trading at 260 CUP.
The dollar, for its part, remains at 450 CUP for the second day, a value it reached this Sunday.
Also unchanged is the euro, which remains priced at 490 CUP.

A market that disregards the official discourse
The trends in the informal market contrast with the narrative of the Central Bank of Cuba (BCC), which at the beginning of November announced the creation of an "ordered and transparent official exchange market".
Three weeks later, there are no concrete signs of implementation, no foreign currency liquidity, nor public operational mechanisms.
In this scenario, November ended with widespread increases and a skyrocketing MLC, a symbol of the liquidity crisis the country is facing.
The Cuban peso is once again losing ground against all currencies, and the informal market—once again—proves to be the only honest reflection of the real value of money in Cuba.
