What started as an ordinary day ended up being one of the most challenging in Flor de Cuba's life. The popular Cuban content creator had to undergo emergency surgery at a hospital in Miami after suffering from an ectopic pregnancy, a serious complication that threatened her life and took her straight to the operating room.

“ I had a subdermal contraceptive, one of those that goes under the arm, and suddenly I began to feel an extremely strong pain during my first visit with the psychologist,” Flor shared in a video posted on her social media, where she showed how she experienced the distressing moment alongside her partner, Ale. From her hospital bed, visibly affected, she explained that due to the intensity of the pain, her partner decided to take her to the emergency room immediately. “It turns out that the urine test was positive, but the ultrasound showed no fetus in the uterus,” she recounted honestly.

The doctors decided to keep her admitted for observation of her condition. However, hours later, they confirmed that it was an ectopic pregnancy, a condition where the embryo implants outside the uterus, which can be potentially life-threatening. "I had an ectopic pregnancy and they removed one of my fallopian tubes. Thank God I'm doing well and recovering," expressed the influencer, deeply thanking the medical team at the Coral Gables hospital for their professionalism and support.

In her post, Flor also took the opportunity to highlight the importance of having health insurance, emphasizing that it was what allowed her to receive immediate care. “Life can change in an instant. It’s important to have health insurance,” she wrote, extending special thanks to the gynecologist who operated on her, Dr. Carlos Peña, for his dedication and support throughout the entire process.

The post, which garnered over 15 thousand "likes" in just a few hours and received nearly a thousand comments, was filled with messages of affection and well-wishes from her followers. “Thank you all for your kind wishes; I truly appreciate it. I’m here to showcase both the good and the bad, and always leave a lesson”, Flor replied, visibly moved by the wave of support.

Faithful to her transparent and approachable style, Flor de Cuba shared her experience with the aim of raising awareness about women's health and the risks of ectopic pregnancies.
