The Cuban influencer Flor de Cuba is once again making headlines on social media, this time for her latest beauty adventure in Miami, the city she recently moved to in search of new opportunities. In a video she shared with her followers, the creator described, with her usual charm, how her experience at a Russian beauty salon left her, in her own words, “with her heart in her mouth.”
"I went to the salon to make myself look prettier and ended up with my heart in my throat," Flor confessed in her viral TikTok vlog. For two days, she searched for a place where only American or Russian stylists worked, convinced they would be the most skilled at handling blonde hair. "I didn't want to do it for publicity — she explained — I wanted to feel like a queen and get rid of that tacky blonde shade. I just wanted an elegant, glamorous blonde, an expensive blonde."
The influencer, always spontaneous, shared that the treatment was luxurious: they offered her coffee, water, smiles, and even food during the process. However, there was one detail that raised her concerns. “The first thing that scared me was that she straightened my hair. No one had ever done that to me before, but I thought: she is the expert, she's Russian, she has blonde hair, she must know what she's doing,” she humorously recounted.
Time passed and Flor could not hide her nervousness. "When they took out the dye, I thought I looked like monkey poop," she joked. But the fear turned into relief (and pride) when she saw the final result. "It didn't turn out like I thought; it turned out much better. Look at that blonde, it's fine, elegant, just what I wanted. They got rid of the yellow and I feel happy," she said, delighted with her new shade.
The video, which has already garnered over 90,000 reactions on TikTok and nearly 2 million views, sparked a lively debate among stylists and followers. While some praised the result — "That blonde really looks rich!" or "You look elegant and beautiful" — others issued warnings: "You should never straighten before bleaching," commented one user. Flor, for her part, responded casually: "My hair is not damaged, it's afro, and this is how it looks naturally."
With her characteristic humor and authenticity, Flor de Cuba celebrated the final result and made it clear that, beyond color or technique, what matters is feeling good. Her new look not only reflects a change in image but also a new phase in her life: a Cuban in Miami who reinvents herself with a smile, a touch of glamour, and of course, an “expensive” blonde that makes her shine.
