The Cuban actress Danay Cruz surprised her followers by announcing her engagement from Paris, following a proposal that combined elegance, surprise, and one of the most iconic backdrops in the world: the illuminated Eiffel Tower.

The news was shared by the artist herself on her Instagram account, where she detailed how she experienced a night that she described as unforgettable.

According to Danay, it all started with what seemed like a regular plan. Her partner, Maxime, asked her to get ready because they would be attending his company’s New Year's Eve party.

Although he confessed that he sensed a proposal could come at some point during the winter, he assured her that he didn't expect it to happen that night. Upon arriving at the location, he noticed that there was no one familiar, at which point he revealed to her that it was all part of a larger surprise.

The couple then headed to dinner at Don Juan, a restaurant boat that sails on the Seine River, which the actress described as "the only boat in the world with Michelin stars."

During dinner and the nighttime river tour, Danay recounted that her suspicions were aroused, but as time went on, she thought the evening would remain simply as a special experience.

"I saw him too relaxed and very handsome, especially dressed in his suit," she wrote.

The decisive moment came when Maxime invited her to go up to the deck to watch the Eiffel Tower light up. There, with Paris as the backdrop, the proposal arrived

"Everything else is history... I found myself with a ring on and embraced by a man who loves me and whom I love passionately, with the promise of making it eternal," the actress expressed, confirming that she accepted without hesitation.

"I said yes! Thank you, future husband, for choosing me and for this unforgettable night," she concluded in her message, accompanied by images and videos of the moment.

Danay Cruz is originally from Báguanos, Holguín, and trained as an actress at the Manuel Muñoz Cedeño Professional Art School in Bayamo.

He began his career in humorous television spaces and gradually gained recognition within the national artistic community.

In 2019, she participated in the year-end television special "25 por Segundo," during which the character that propelled her to fame began to take shape: Lola Mento Guasimita.

Her work is not limited to comedy; she has also portrayed dramatic roles, such as Judith in the telenovela "Vuelve a mirar," where she embodied a young woman faced with the dilemma of emigrating or staying in Cuba, and Patricia in "El Derecho de Soñar."

But it is Lola Mento who has allowed her to find her own space on social media, where Danay has developed a style that blends humor, satire, social critique, and Creole flair.

In October of last year, a sketch went viral in which it was told how one got up without chikungunya "thank to creative resistance", a parody that addressed the harsh daily reality of Cubans with sharp humor.

In August, she decided to step into the role of a "content creator à la influencer", but with the conditions that only Cuba can offer.

The story began with a young woman wearing two slices of cucumber over her eyes, which had cost quite a bit, a makeshift bathrobe made from leftover curtain fabric, and a beauty routine that rivaled high-end brands: a piece of cassava on her face because "yucaloronic acid" was a must.

Now, in addition to her artistic career and ongoing projects, Danay Cruz has made a personal announcement that has sparked a wave of reactions and congratulations on social media.

Their engagement in Paris not only marks the beginning of a new romantic chapter but has also become a shared story celebrated by thousands of Cubans who closely follow their career and life.
