The popular Cuban actress Maikel Amelia, known for her role in the series "Tras la huella," is recovering from chikungunya, but she insists that she has not stopped working despite the severe pain caused by the illness.

In a recent post on his social media, Maikel shared his experience with a message full of strength and optimism.

"I've been working this way for days. Applying the technique my grandmother taught me," said the artist as she demonstrated how she manages to stay upright despite feeling a lot of pain.

"The important thing is to breathe deeply," she said as she stood up with her head held high. "Thank you, Grandma Amelia. My body is temporarily sick… I am not."

With her characteristic sense of humor and a positive attitude, the actress explained that the "secret" to coping with discomfort lies in maintaining a healthy mind and spirit, convinced that "when the spirit is well, the body ultimately heals."

The post was filled with messages of support and admiration from her followers, who highlighted the actress's determination and energy even in difficult times.

In Cuba, there is an epidemic of chikungunya. This virus is transmitted by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito and causes high fever, intense joint pain, and fatigue.

However, Maikel Amelia has decided not to give in to the illness and, it seems, plans to continue with her professional commitments.
