A Cuban woman was involved in a regrettable episode of violence with racist undertones while traveling on a bus in Miami.
The scene, captured on video by TikTok user @la_china_yoy, showed an agitated passenger hurling insults at a young girl, apparently a minor.
The Cuban woman, beside herself, also unleashed her anger on the person filming the video, reproaching their behavior and denouncing the threats made by the woman against the teenager. “She said she’s going to kick her,” explained the social media user.
“She stepped on my foot and I almost fell,” the Cuban defended herself, while several voices on the public transport responded that the young woman had apologized and that it was unintentional.
According to a sign in the video, the events took place on bus route 8. "They called her 'Indian,' and that makes me angry because I am also a mother," said the person recording the scene.
"She's a dirty Indian," the Cuban reaffirmed. "Just like you are, and I’ll resin... in the heart of your mother," the Cuban concluded.
In another post shared on TikTok, the user @la_china_yoy identified the Cuban woman by the name M. R. and shared photos of her from social media.
This publication reached out to the user of the reported profile to hear their version of events, but at the time of writing this note, no response had been received.
According to @la_china_yoy, the minor is the daughter of a Cuban father and a Honduran mother, and her family asked her to remove the video from social media to protect her.
This incident reflects the tense atmosphere and the increasing exacerbation of racism and xenophobia that has intensified in the United States under the shelter of immigration policies and the exclusionary rhetoric promoted by the administration of Donald Trump.
In a context where hostility towards Latin American immigrants has become normalized in some areas, episodes like this serve as a reminder of the social fractures that persist and the impact political decisions can have on everyday coexistence.
